Qi Gong in Hastings


The benefits of Qi Gong: Qi Gong exercises help maintain and improve health. With slow gentle movements (dynamic and static) and accurate breathing you are training tendons, ligaments and muscles which improve flexibility, balance and coordination. These movements will help to activate vital organs and connective tissue and promote the circulation of body fluids (blood, lymph), strengthening the immune system, activating self-healing and calming the nervous system.

Studies have shown the effectiveness of Qi Gong in helping to heal lifes challenges ranging from high blood pressure and chronic illness to emotional frustration, mental stress and spiritual crisis.

According to traditional Chinese philosophy the term Qi Gong means "Life Energy Cultivation", a method of cultivating and balancing the life energy (Chi), to prevent disease and to improve, sustain, and maximize overall wellbeing. The concept of Qi Gong is combined with the techniques of martial arts, especially with Tai Chi, Chinese medicine and philosophy.

My name is Sigrid I am German and a certified Qi Gong instructor by the Association Tai Chi Marbella. I first started Tai Chi/Qi Gong classes in 2003 in Germany. Currently I am a student of Master Fumin Wang Guo 8┬║Duan of WuShu, Bachelor of Physical Education and Master of Tuina. Maybe like yourself, I was attracted to Tai Chi /Qi Gong for a combination of reasons: I had a very stressful job and was suffering from injuries after a car crash. I wanted to get healthier and fitter but I was also searching for calm in my busy schedule and I loved martial arts.

I was captivated from my very first lesson and I took my first baby step on my journey. I like to describe my training as a journey and regardless of how fast or slow, or how far I travel I enjoy the progress. On my journey I discovered Qi Gong which gives you the opportunity to take a more active role in your healing process. Qi Gong is a form of exercise that strengthens and relaxes the body with gentle movements and the right breathing techniques. Qi Gong promotes mental clarity, calmness and inner peace.

Now I feel privileged to be teaching Qi Gong. If you practise you will improve and start to feel the health benefits. It is great fun.
